Ryan was first introduced to Pilates in 2001 as a means to manage his chronic back pain stemming from Scheuermann's kyphosis and nerve damage due to a spinal tap during infancy. His introduction to this effective method came from Janie Parker, the former principal of the Houston Ballet.
Ryan has undertaken several Pilates teacher training sessions, completing the Comprehensive Program and Balanced Body Barre® Instructor Training Fundamentals through Balanced Body, along with MOTR® Comprehensive and CoreAlign® 1: Foundations. Additionally, he has finished the Fletcher Foundational Program and is recognized as a Fletcher Pilates® Qualified Teacher, while currently enrolled in the Fletcher Professional Program.
A passionate learner, Ryan holds various fitness and wellness certifications and has learned directly from some of the top professionals in the Pilates industry, many of whom he considers to be the best in their field.
His holistic approach to client sessions encompasses movement, nutrition, and wellness coaching, emphasizing that a healthy and happy body begins from within. This includes guidance on eating the right foods and effectively engaging core and intrinsic muscles.
Ryan enjoys creating a fun atmosphere during sessions, often making his clients laugh while teaching them how to become stronger, healthier, and happier.

Pilates (pi-LAH-teez) is a comprehensive movement system that utilizes spring-driven machines along with floor exercises to enhance strength, flexibility, stamina, and concentration. Developed by Joseph H. Pilates (1883-1967), a renowned German inventor of the Pilates Exercise Method—originally referred to as ‘Contrology’—and its associated equipment. Joseph Pilates was born in 1883 in Monchengladbach, Germany. He dedicated his life to the study of physical education, becoming an accomplished diver, skier, boxer, and gymnast before creating his innovative fitness program known as ‘Contrology’. He continued to teach and refine his method until his passing in 1967. After his death, Clara Pilates and other first-generation teachers carried on his legacy, ensuring that the principles of Pilates continue to thrive.
“To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life, we must constantly strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies, and develop our minds to the limit of our ability.” – Joseph H. Pilates
Ron Fletcher was a talented Martha Graham dancer who worked closely with Joe and Clara Pilates from 1948 until 1968. He initially discovered Pilates due to a chronic knee condition. In 1972, Ron Fletcher opened the Ron Fletcher Studio for Body Contrology, which quickly became a hotspot for the who's who of Hollywood, attracting stars like Alli McGraw, Candice Bergen, and Barbra Streisand. Thanks to Ron's influence, the media began to extensively cover Pilates in the 1970s and 1980s, helping to spread the teachings of Joe and Clara Pilates beyond New York and around the globe.
